Korean Celebrities Extend Donations To Aid The Fight On Spreading Coronavirus

Heartfelt support are pouring in from various Korean artists and entertainment personalities to help people combat the coronavirus

To curb the widely spreading coronavirus, numerous Korean celebrities have provided monetary and valuable support to provide immediate assistance to the affected people.

On February 27, Son Ye Jin and Jung Ryeo Won have pledged 100 million won each. Son’s donation will be delivered to neighborhood suffering from the corona virus, including quarantine supplies and medical assistance needed to prevent corona-19 from low-income families in Daegu through Community Chest of Korea, Daegu branch. Jung channeled her contribution via NGO Good Neighbor.

On February 26, donations from Kang Ho Dong, Kim Hye Soo, Ju Ji Hoon, Gong Yoo, Bae Suzy, Kim Woo Bin, Jung Woo Sung, Hye Ri, Park Bo Young, Cha Eun Woo and Kim So Hyun were reported.

Previously, Park Seo Joon, Lee Byung Hun, Park Hae Jin and Yoo Jae Suk have also extended their helping hand.

Kang Ho Dong shared 100 million won to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation for underprivileged children who need help and were infected by the virus.

Also, Gong Yoo allocated 100 million won to Social Welfare Community Fund while Bae Suzy doled out 100 million won through NGO Good Neighbors. Hyeri bequeathed 100 million won through Save the Children foundation.

Another 100 million won was provided by Kim Hye Soo through Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association. Veteran actor Song Kang Ho also deposited 100 million won. Likewise, young actors Cha Eun Woo and Kim So Hyun contributed 30 million won and 10 million won, respectively through the charity organization.

Jung Woo Sung provided 100 million won to Community Chest of Korea which will be used to buy health masks and hand sanitizers to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Ju Ji Hoon also shared 50 million won for the prevention of infection through NGO Good Neighbors for provisions of masks and hand sanitizers for underprivileged children.

Power couple Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin also shared their good deeds. The two participated in the donation process sending 100 million won each to Community Chest of Korea.

Lee Byung Hun and Yoo Jae Suk delivered 100 million won through Community Chest of Korea and the National Disaster Relief Association on February 25. The same day, Park Seo Joon also bestowed 100 million won to the Daegu branch of Community Chest of Korea.

In addition, Lee Young Ae, Kim Dong Wan, Kim Jong Guk, Jang Sung Kyu, Yoon Se Ah, Kim Go Eun, Super Junior, Chungha, Lee Si Young, Hyomin, Hong Jin Young and more celebrities have also participated in the donation relay.

iKON’s B.I have also shown his generous spirit by sharing 100,000 pieces of masks. He initially gave 20,000 pieces to local fans and 20,000 to Chinese fans. But, he decided to add more to be delivered sequentially after consultation with local organizations in Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.

The city of Daegu is at the center of epidemic with the concentration of coronavirus set at severe level. The tally on February 26, 4 p.m. reports 1,261 affected citizens.

The donation money given by the aforementioned Korean artists will be distributed to people all over the country who need support. That includes children with disabilities and the elderly, as well as, low-income families, and medical staff.
