Taeyeon, SuperM, NCT Dream, MONSTA X, Kang Daniel, SF9, And More Postpone Upcoming Activities As Sign Of Respect To Sulli

Various K-Pop idols had cancelled their activities and releases scheduled for the upcoming days following news of Sulli’s passing.

The entertainment industry deeply mourns for another wonderful person lost – as actress and former f(x) member Sulli, unfortunately, passed away on October 14. Idols from all over the scene are showing their sympathy and condolences by giving time to grieve.


Former f(x) groupmate Amber had put her upcoming activities on hold, including the release of her new song “Other People” and its music video for October 15 in order to grieve for Sulli.

Earlier, Super Junior cancelled their commemorative live broadcast on Naver V Live for their Time_Slip comeback scheduled today following the unfortunate news. Likewise, their comeback music video for “Super Clap” which was supposed to be released at 6 PM KST today has been moved to 12 midnight KST on October 17.

Moreover, SuperM halted the recording of their SuperM: The Beginning television special after the news broke, ultimately decided to readjust their filming schedule instead. Red Velvet’s Seulgi also cancelled her appearance at a brand event on October 15 following the unfortunate news.

Taeyeon, whose second album titled Purpose will be released soon, has delayed the release of promotional contents and teasers as well, and its new release date will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment’s youngest group NCT Dream cancelled their first solo concert in Seoul’s scheduled ticketing open for the day. It will be put on hold until further notice, and the entertainment agency promises to update fans as soon as possible.

Besides Sulli’s labelmates, other artists outside of SM Entertainment also adjusted their schedules in solidarity with the songstress, her family, friends, and fans.

MONSTA X put off the scheduled release of their first set of concept photos for their comeback mini-album Follow: Find You today at 10 PM KST.

“We and MONSTA X would like to express our deepest condolences regarding the recent unfortunate news in the entertainment industry, and we also send our prayers for the memory of the deceased,” their agency Starship Entertainment also stated, asking for fans’ understanding regarding the matter and promising that they will provide updates regarding the new schedule.

FNC Entertainment also earlier shared an official statement to let fans know that N.Flying’s scheduled press showcase for their comeback mini-album YAHO for October 15 has been cancelled to show the group’s respect.

Pledis Entertainment announced that NU’EST members Aron and Baekho’s scheduled appearance on Jam Live for October 15 has been rescheduled as well to October 18 “due to the sudden passing of a fellow colleague”.

SEVENTEEN’s 18th episode for 2019 GOING SEVENTEEN, scheduled for October 15 at 10:10 PM, was also called off, and will pick up next week instead.

BTOB’s Hyunsik cancelled the V Live broadcast he was supposed to hold on October 15 to celebrate his solo debut with the mini-album Rendez-Vous. SF9’s Youngbin and IZ*ONE also called off their scheduled broadcasts for the day, and MPD announced the postponement of the contents for <BE ORIGINAL -AB6IX> that were supposed to come out today.

Meanwhile, Kang Daniel’s new episode for his travelogue Colorful Daniel, scheduled to air on October 16, has been postponed to October 23. His Star Road episodes, scheduled for release at 9 PM KST today, has also been moved to 9 PM KST on October 21.

Fellow actress Kim Yoo Jung also cancelled her attendance at an event for Laneige that she is collaborating with. Likewise, Kyungri, GFRIEND’s SinB and Sowon, and Girl’s Day Sojin have all cancelled their scheduled appearance for the 2020 SS Seoul Fashion Week on October 15 as well.

WJSN’s release of All Rounder Idol has also been postponed, and 1theK expressed their hopes for everyone to understand their decision, adding that they will be announcing its release’s new schedule soon.

Despite their nearing comeback with The Book of Us: Entropy, Day6 also later on announced that they will be putting their scheduled release of content for the week on hold in the meantime, alongside expressing their deepest condolences as the singer’s juniors.

The same goes for VAV, who postponed the release of their first music video teaser for their upcoming Poison comeback due to the recent heartbreaking news.

Sulli’s Passing

Discovered to have passed away by her manager in a house in Seongnam in the early afternoon of October 14 KST, the death of Sulli shook the entertainment industry with how it had happened suddenly.

SM Entertainment earlier released their official statement on the actress and former idol’s passing, adding their request of refraining from writing speculative articles or spreading rumors in respect of her grieving family.
