Lee Min Ho Officially Completes Military Service

Lee Min Ho is officially discharged from military service.

Due to a car accident with Jung Il Woo in 2006, Lee was unable to take active military duty. Instead, he served as a public service officer at the  Suseo Social Welfare Center in Gangnam District Office.

There will be no formal event staged after his release. Fans have been eagerly awaiting for the return of the actor after his enlistment on May 12, 2017.

Lee started his career in 2003 via Secret Campus. After a brief hiatus due to his car accident, he returned in 2007 for Mackerel Run. He participated in various dramas doing supporting roles after.

Lee Min Ho’s Career So Far…

In 2009, Lee rose to prominence for his role as Gu Jun Pyo in Boys Over Flowers. He became popular not only in Korea, but all over the world. Because of his role, he became a certified Hallyu star, gaining several endorsements after.

The handsome actor followed up with Personal Taste in 2010, where he was paired with Son Ye Jin. In the succeeding year, he had his first action-crime project in the 2011 drama City Hunter. The series earned him his very first acting award.

Establishing his sought-after status, he was tapped as the male lead of The Heirs, which was penned by star writer Kim Eun Suk. Comprised of a talented cast of rising actors such as Park Shin Hye, Park Hyung Sik, Kim Ji Won, Kim Woo Bin and Kang Ha Neul, to name a few, it generated immense online presence.

For the majority of his career, Lee has amassed a following owing to his well-received television dramas. Venturing to his first film project, he co-starred with Kim Rae Won in Gangnam Blues. The following year, he starred in the South Korean-Chinese film Bounty Hunters, which grossed $29 million. It proved that Lee has achieved a stable international following, generating hit projects not just in South Korea.

Prior to his enlistment, he gifted his fans with one last drama, Legend of the Blue Sea. The fantasy love story between Lee, as Heo Joon Jae, and Jun Ji Hyun, as Shim Cheong further endeared Lee to his fans.

No news have been released yet on Lee’s new project after enlistment. Whatever it may be, fans of the actor are more than glad to welcome him back.
