MONSTA X’s Joohoney Named New Face f “M! Countdown”
Congratulations, MONSTA X’s Joohoney, on being selected as the new MC of “M! Countdown!”
Last week it was confirmed that MONSTA X’s Joohoney would be taking over as the new MC of MNet’s music program, “M! Countdown.”
On January 19, actor Nam Yoon Soo stepped down from his position as MC of “M! Countdown” after two years, leaving an MC position vacant. As a result, Joohoney of MONSTA X is set to be the brand-new face of “M! Countdown” alongside existing MC, Miyeon of (G)I-DLE.
The K-Pop idols are two years apart (Joohoney is a 95-liner, while Miyeon is a 97-liner) and are expected to show fans a slightly different kind of same-age friends’ chemistry like the veteran superstars they are.
Meanwhile, Joohoney previously garnered attention following the confirmation of his participation in the upcoming Netflix original film K-Pop: Lost in America.
Additionally, Joohoney also participated in the composing and producing of MONSTA X’s latest album, Reason, which dropped on January 12, KST. The album has been met with much fanfare, with each song earning over 1 million streams on Spotify as well as charting on Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart.
Joohoney has been recognized for his charms and charisma through various programs such as MBC’s “Idol Radio,” YouTube’s “Daejjok Counseling Center,” and MU:PLY’s “Muziekwang Company.” Expectations are high on what kind of new charm he will show off on “M! Countdown” as MONBEBE anticipates him to capture the hearts of viewers across the globe.
Meanwhile, MONSTA X’s Jooheon and (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon will begin co-hosting MNet’s “M! Countdown” MC at the end of February.
