MONSTA X’s Kihyun Shares Joy As He Donates 10 Million Won To Good Neighbors

When we say fans take after the kindness of their idols, MONSTA X’s Kihyun proves it true as he provided unsparing donation for people in dire need.

On January 18, Good Neighbors extended its gratitude to a generous deed done by MONSTA X’s Kihyun as the main vocalist donated 10 million won (approximately $9,060) to the organization.

Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian development NGO founded in Korea in 1991 to make the world a place without hunger, where people live together in harmony. The donation will be used to support kits that contain sanitary items for girls from low-income families in Korea.

It was also reported in March 2020 that MONSTA X donated 100 million won (approximately $90,600) to Good Neighbors. This kind gesture was made to support vulnerable groups and residents in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a result of the group’s good action, MONSTA X has been listed as a member of Good Neighbors’ “The Neighbors Club” along with its fan club MONBEBE, leading a good influence on other people.

“The Neighbors Club” is a status awarded to those who have made donations and contributions of at least 10 million won a year to help foster a culture of sharing and giving help to those in dire need.

After his heartwarming donation, MONSTA X’s Kihyun shared his thoughts through Good Neighbors:

“Thanks to the fans’ support, MONSTA X was able to win a big award at the year-end of 2020. And I decided to donate because I wanted to share the joy of winning such award. I hope it will aid children who need help to grow up healthy.”

The director of Good Neighbors’ Marketing, Hwang Sung Joo, has also extended the organization’s gratitude to Kihyun. “We thank MONSTA X’s Kihyun for sharing and joining us to protect children who are having a cold winter during the COVID-19 pandemic”.

Good Neighbors also assured that they will continue to strive harder to make the world a better place. This includes providing professional services such as counseling and mentoring the children. As well as economic support for girls from low-income families in Korea can grow in good health.

Meanwhile, MONSTA X has received the “Best Group” award at the 35th Golden Disc Awards. The group was also honored with its first grand prize at the 2020 AAA as “Stage of the Year”.

They also received “Asia Star Award-Singer” at the 2020 AMA and “Best Performance” at the 2020 MMA. Additionally, the amazing sextet also won “Best Stage” at the 2020 MAMA, and “Artist of the Year” at 2020 The Fact Music Awards.
