The music video, while simple and to the point, shows off the group’s powerful dance moves. The song itself showcases both the vocal and rappers of the group, with rappers IM and Jooheon delivering hard-hitting verses.

“Spotlight” is Monsta X’s third Japanese single. The group’s first Japanese single album, “Hero”, reached number two on the Oricon’s weekly single chart and number 2 on Billboard Japan’s weekly charts. The group’s next release, “Beautiful”, also charted on Oricon’s daily chart.

Monsta X’s most recent Korean release, ‘Dramarama’, earned the group their first music show trophy on The Show in November 2017, fulfilling the group’s goal for the year. The group was formed during the elimination style reality program, No Mercy, and debuted on 15 May 2015 with “Tresspass”.  The group recently performed at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Japan.
