The cast and crew of My ID is Gangnam Beauty, will travel to the Philippines for a reward vacation, following the success of the drama.
According to news report, they rewarded with five days and four nights of vacation which will commence on October 19.
The drama, which starred Im Soo Hyang, Astro’s Cha Eun Woo, Jo Woori, and Kwak Dong Yeon, received high viewership rating during its 16-episode run. It averaged a viewership rating of 4.269 percent, with the highest viewership rating of 5.753 percent recorded on its final episode.
Aside from high ratings, My ID is Gangnam Beauty was praised for its critical and well-thought approach on discussing the emphasis the society places on appearances and the meaning of happiness and beauty through the life of Kang Mi Rae.
Kang Mi Rae is a girl with a low self-esteem and insecurites which she attributed to her looks. She then underwent a plastic surgery, thinking that all her sufferings will be over once she alters her looks. However, even with a “beautiful” face, people around her continued to bully her as the “Gangnam plastic surgery monster”.
The drama follows her journey to recovering her self-esteeem and accepting herself with the help of her friend-turned-lover Do Kyung Seok.
My ID is Gangnam Beauty began airing on July 27 and wrapped up its run on September 15 via JTBC.
