Jungwoo needs your support and well-wishes now, NCTzens. The idol has recently tested positive for COVID-19 after wrapping up NCT127’s recent concert in Japan.

SM Entertainment just made an important announcement regarding the current health condition of one of its talented and well-rounded artists, NCT’s Jungwoo.

On the morning of June 1, the agency released an official statement saying that the male idol has contracted the COVID-19 virus. He is the third member of NCT who tested positive, following Jisung and Taeil, who were diagnosed last month and have already completed their recovery.

SM Entertainment did not provide any specific details as to how Jungwoo got the virus but they gave an update regarding what precautionary measures they have been currently taking.

The agency revealed that Jungwoo, together with his fellow NCT 127 members, all received a routine PCR test as part of the standard procedure for re-entering South Korea. While the PCR test Jungwoo took before his departure from Japan came back negative, the test he took upon returning to South Korea unfortunately came back positive, which led to his official diagnosis today.

SM Entertainment added, “Jungwoo previously received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and he is not currently exhibiting any particular symptoms.”

In consideration of the people he came in close contact with, the idol immediately halted his scheduled activities and is currently in self-isolation in accordance with the guidelines set by the government disease control authorities.

Regarding the current health condition of other NCT 127 members, SM Entertainment said that their results from the PCR test they took after their arrival in South Korea all came back negative.

‘Our agency will strictly adhere to the instructions of health authorities, and we will consider our artist’s health and safety our top priority as we do our utmost to help him focus entirely on his recovery,” the agency concluded.
