Netflix To Gift Fans With Lee Jong Suk & Shin Hye Sun’s “Hymn Of Death” In December

A beautiful yet bittersweet melody is up for Netflix fans through Korean drama, Hymn of Death.

Netflix, the world’s leading entertainment service, announced that it will be launching Hymn of Death in December. Layered with tragic colors, the historical set drama will thread on an emotional love narrative.

Based on the heartbreaking love story of Korea’s first soprano Yun Sim Deok, and her genius playwright boyfriend Kim Woo Jin, Hymn of Death has been re-imagined in various formats including plays, films and musicals through the years.

The three-part series tapped actors Lee Jong Suk (W and Pinocchio) and Shin Hye Sun (Still 17 and My Golden Life) to play the main love pairing of the narrative.

Lee Jong Suk will show the life of a writer amidst a crumbling nation as Kim Woo Jin, while Shin Hye Sun will bring to life the talented soprano Yun Sim Deok.

The special drama has been gathering anticipation owing to the lead actors who are both acknowledged for their consistent impressive drama performances.

Hymn of Death will be available on Netflix Korea platform, one hour after its broadcast via SBS on November 27, December 3 and December 4. The series will be available in Asia and English speaking territories on December 14. It will be shown in all other territories including Europe on December 28.

In the recent finale stop of Lee Jong Suk’s global fan meeting, he shared excitement over his new series which he signed up without guaranteed pay, agreeing to the request of the director of his last drama, While You Were Sleeping. It will be directed by Park Soo Jin (The Doctors and Dr. Romantic) and penned by Cho Soo Jin.
