NewJeans Tops Korean Spotify Weekly Chart Ahead of Album Release

ADOR and HYBE LABELS’ newest girl group, NewJeans is dominating music charts across the globe ahead of their physical debut. 

 

According to Spotify, the debut song “Attention” is ranked number one on Korea’s latest Weekly Top Song’ Chart during the counting period from July 29 to August 4th. In addition, their songs “Hype Boy”, “Cookie,” and “Hurt” succeeded in entering the top 20, ranking 3rd, 7th, and 15th, respectively.

NewJeans has proved its growing popularity by achieving remarkable results on the Spotify weekly chart, which was first counted after the release of the sound source on the 1st.

“Attention” and “Hype Boy” are taking first and second places on the Korean Spotify Daily Top Songs chart for the fifth day in a row. Within twenty-four hours of release, all the tracks in the debut album NewJeans were ranked in the top 10, with “Cookie” ranked 4th and “Hurt” 6th.

“Attention” also set a new record on the Melon chart. The song ranked number nine on the Melon Daily Chart on August 5th, making it the fastest song to enter the ‘Top 10’ among debut songs of a girl group released in the past three years. 

NewJeans consists of members Minji, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein. They released their debut album NewJeans on August 1st, with promotional activities starting with Mnet ‘M Countdown’ on the 4th. NewJeans’ album will be officially released on August 8th.
