The Songpa police station has said that it will be summoning actor Kim Hyun Joong for questioning, after a report was filed against him today.

It is alleged that his unidentified girlfriend filed a complaint that the Boys Over Flowers actor physically assaulted her in May and July this year.

A friend of Kim Hyun Joong’s girlfriend has said that the couple had been dating since 2012 and have been having troubles about other women.

Kim Hyun Joong reportedly first assaulted his girlfriend at the end of May 2014 in his apartment by punching and kicking her.

She allegedly suffered injuries to her face, chest, arm and butt and spent two weeks in hospital to recover.

The incident then happened again in July, where the couple fought over about other women. Except this time, she fractured her ribs and took six weeks to recover.

“Women troubles arose, and it turned into assault… The past two months were a repetition of beatings, apologies, and forgiveness. However, the situation got worse, and that’s why she decided to report it.” A friend of the girlfriend said.

The alleged girlfriend submitted evidence to show that she was dating the actor. Medical proof was also part of her submission to the police.

Police confirmed they received the reports today and said they would ask Kim Hyun Joong to assist in their investigation.

“We are currently investigating the case. It is not yet concluded if the defendant is guilty.”

His agency, Key East Entertainment has yet released an official statement but said they were first looking into the reports. Kim Hyun Joong will still perform in Thailand as planned.

This may underscore why Korean celebrities are not allowed to date, anything can happen and that will tarnish their image.Either way Kim Hyun Joong is in for a long haul, this will hurt him badly in a society where idols as they call them are expected to be spotless. I wish him strength go through the experience and learn from it. But he should not be condemned until all the sides of the stories are heard. We should also remember that violence can be physical and non physical.. I hope the girl has no contribution in bringing out this ugly side of him.
