Red Velvet’s “Ice Cream Cake” Goes Top On SBS Inkigayo
It is no doubt that Red Velvet is on a winning streak as the group took home its well-deserved second trophy on the March 29 episode of SBS’s Inkigayo, with the comeback title track Ice Cream Cake, after only two days of its first win on KBS’s Music Bank.
Outstripping Huk Gak’s Snow of April and Davichi’s Two Lovers, Ice Cream Cake sat comfortably at No.1 spot on the weekly music show with 8,504 votes. During the acceptance speech, the quintet expressed their deep gratitude to their families, fans and staff members of SM Entertainment.
Red Velvet made a comeback to the music scene as a five-member group with the addition of Yeri, by releasing its first album of the same name on March 17 via online music sites.
The girls have proved not only their unique charms, but also their outstanding talents as they quickly topped three local music charts; Bugs Music, Genie Music, and Olleh Music, as well as the iTunes charts in three Asian countries; Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, with the lead song Ice Cream Cake.
This week’s Inkigayo featured a number of stages from various artists, namely FT ISLAND, Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga In, Huk Gak, Lovelyz, Girl’s Day’s Minah, and more.
