SBS Lines Up 2nd Quarter Powerhouse Dramas Headlined By Lee Min Ho, Ji Chang Wook & More

SBS is keen to continue the successful spree of dramas this 2020!

With prominent viewership ratings, Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS), took the top spot in household drama ratings. Its 2020 first quarter drama offerings has consistently been top-rating. Dr. Romantic 2 and Stove League achieve average nationwide viewership scores of 18.3% and 12.5% respectively. Hyena and Nobody Knows also rake in impressive ratings.

Parading ingenious plot, SBS showcased stories of evolving genres. Notably, presenting staple and stable genres: medical, drama, legal and crime. Utilizing strong male leads such as Teacher Kim and Baek Seung Soo apparently takes the credit of why SBS’ drama lineup generates impeccable reception from the audience. On that note, actresses Kim Hye Soo and Kim Seo Hyung are also proving their worth and versatility in the series they lead.

Q2 SBS Drama Roster

Coming to viewers in the second quarter are even more quality series. Eagerly awaited Lee Min Ho starrer, The King: Eternal Monarch begins its reign on April 17. In addition, action comedy drama, Good Casting is scheduled for the first broadcast on April 27. Choi Kang Hee and Lee Sang Yeob are expected to satisfy the audience with high-quality and fun portrayals.

SBS Korean Dramas

Scheduled to air in June, Ji Chang Wook and Kim Yoo Jung collaborate with Director Lee Myung Woo of last year’s hit SBS series, The Fiery Priest. Titled Convenience Store Saet Byul (편의점 샛별이), the first Korean drama to be produced by global network, Lifetime, has tapped Director Lee to orchestrate the production.

Aiming to continue the network’s successful streak, an SBS drama official said, “A lot of attention is needed because we plan to continue the upward trend in the second quarter with a competitive drama that contains colorful materials, characters, and good stories.”
