SF9 Achieves Personal Best Sales Record With “Good Guy” Comeback + Members Share Heartwarming Reactions
These great guys from SF9 had just recorded a personal best for their career – and we couldn’t be any prouder!
SF9 proved their explosive growth by starting 2020 with a stellar achievement of making their best album sales record since they debuted in 2016 with their newly-released first full-length album FIRST COLLECTION!
Released on January 7 at 6 PM KST, the album sold an approximate total of 34,000 copies on the day of its release alone. Marking an impressive feat for the nine boys, this number for their newest album is far greater than the total 27,000 copies of their previous mini-album RPM sold on its first week.
The album’s title track “Good Guy” also owned the group’s best record ever in terms of Melon’s music chart. Soon after its release, the song entered the Melon Chart at the 58th spot and climbed to number 33 in the early morning of January 8, which is the highest position that the group has achieved so far. Later in the day, SF9 then ranked number one on the Melon chart for Top 50 Male Group category.
Members’ Touching Reactions
Even the members of the group themselves were deeply impressed by the record-breaking feat of their new album, especially upon checking the entry ranking of their songs at January 7, 7 PM KST, just before their comeback showcase started.
Amid the mixed emotions that the group felt during their three-year career, they weren’t able to contain the overwhelming feeling of the achievements made by their fans, and all of them had burst into tears while hugging each other.
“I was actually trying to fix my hair when I heard that it was charting from the waiting room. The staff immediately laughed at me when they saw my eyes turned red,” rapper Zuho, who is also the only member from the group who participated in writing the lyrics of all the songs on the album, shared.
“Then when we came home, I cried a little bit more when I saw that we kept on going to the top of the chart. I was embarrassed to say that,” he also confessed. Zuho also posted the same confession on the group’s official fan cafe, along with Rowoon who shared that he himself was shaking upon seeing their new achievement and promised fans that they will work harder while expressing his utter gratitude.
SF9’s vocalist Inseong also said, “I’m so grateful, I feel so good. I think we’re doing a good job thanks to our FANTASY and the many people who helped us. I want to be more passionate and make a lot of happy memories through our activities as we go forward,” adding honour to their very supportive fans.
