Hoping you get and feel better soon, SHINee’s Taemin!

SHINee’s Taemin will be finishing his mandatory military duty as a public service worker.

Back on May 31 last year, Taemin initially enlisted as a member of the military band of the Ministry of National Defense Service Support Group. He suffered from depression and panic disorder before enlisting, and he continued to receive treatment and counseling while serving in the military. Due to his worsening mental health condition, he has recently been transferred to public service.

Earlier today, SM Entertainment released an official statement about this. “SHINee’s Taemin was transferred from the military band to supplementary role. His symptoms of depression and panic disorder, which he had suffered from before, worsened, so he was transferred to a supplementary role according to the military’s judgment and measures. Therefore, Taemin plans to fulfill his military duty as a public service worker,” the agency said.

The agency also assured fans that they will continue to support Taemin’s healing. “We apologize for giving you cause for concern through this sudden news, and we will continue to focus on Taemin’s treatment in the future and do our utmost to ensure that he can find stability. Thank you.”
