Sooyoung & Choi Tae Joon To Star In “So I Married An Anti-fan” Korean Adaptation
The Chinese rom-com film So I Married An Anti-Fan is getting a Korean remake!
The hilarious story of how Korean star Hoo Joon and reporter Fang Miao Miao fell in love is getting a Korean adaptation! Based from a webtoon, So I Married An Anti-Fan is set to meet the Korean audience after landing on China’s box office two years ago.
So I Married An Anti-Fan became a hit in 2016 thanks to its lead stars EXO’s Chanyeol and Chinese actress Yuan Shanshan. The film ranked fourth on Weibo’s “Top 10 films of 2016” year-end list, proving the film’s success. The OST “I Hate You”, a collaboration between the film’s two leads, also won the Best Collaboration category in the fifth YinYueTai VChart Awards.
Choi Tae Joon will be taking the male lead role – a Hallyu star originally played by Chanyeol. Sooyoung, on the other hand, will be playing the magazine editor Lee Geun Young who is the Korean version of Yuan Shanshan’s Fang Miao Miao.
Geun Young does all sorts of things for her job and will do whatever it takes to get a scoop. Because of this, she gets into trouble while interviewing the Hallyu star played by Tae Joon. She ultimately loses her job and ends up blaming Tae Joon’s character for her misfortune. Geun Young then vows to avenge herself by becoming his anti-fan.
However, thanks to some unforeseen circumstances, she ends up living at his house. The two bicker the entire time – but everyone knows what happens when two people live together in rom-com stories!
Sooyoung’s former SNSD groupmate Seohyun also starred in the original Chinese version of So I Married An Anti-Fan. Further details about the project are yet to be announced – so stay tuned!
