Soran to Reorganize as a One-Man Band Led by Go Young-bae After January Concert

Beloved Korean band Soran has announced a major transformation. The group will conclude its current three-member formation with a final concert in January 2026, after which vocalist Go Young-bae will carry on the band’s name as a one-man project.

On October 13, Soran shared an official notice through their SNS channels, along with heartfelt statements from the members. The announcement read, “This isn’t due to any argument or conflict. However, after transitioning from a four-member group to a trio, we faced a major turning point.” The members explained that they began reflecting deeply on “the form and meaning of being a band” as well as their “individual musical paths and dreams.”

After extensive discussions, they reached a mutual decision: each member will now pursue separate musical directions, while Go Young-bae will continue Soran’s legacy as a solo-driven band project. The group emphasized that the decision was made out of “mutual respect and affection for the time spent together.”

Their agency, MPM Music, clarified, “This change does not mean disbandment, but rather a transition that allows each member to focus on their own music. After long discussions, they decided on this direction with sincerity and trust.”

Following the announcement, bassist Seo Myun-ho and guitarist Lee Tae-wook will embark on their own musical endeavors, while Go Young-bae—the group’s frontman and main vocalist—will continue releasing music under the name Soran. This move is notable in the Korean music scene, as it allows a long-standing band’s name and identity to evolve under one artist’s creative leadership.

For over a decade, Soran has built a devoted following with hit songs such as “Autumn Mok-i,” “Ricotta Cheese Salad,” “Perfect Day,” and “Study You.” Known for their refreshing sound and emotionally engaging lyrics, the band earned the nickname “Emperor of Festivals” for their dynamic and heartwarming performances that consistently captivated live audiences. Each member has also flourished individually in various fields—from broadcasting and session work to content production—further showcasing their musical depth.

This structural change will coincide with the release of their new EP, DREAM, on October 17, marking their first new album in two years and the final record of Soran’s three-member era. The album encapsulates the group’s reflections and hopes during this transitional period. Its title, “DREAM,” symbolizes both an ending and a new beginning—where the band’s shared dream now branches into individual ones.

The agency added, “We sincerely apologize to fans for the sudden announcement. We deeply respect the members’ decision and will provide full support as Go Young-bae continues Soran’s musical journey.”

With their final concert as a trio set for January, fans can expect an emotional and celebratory farewell—one that honors Soran’s decade-long legacy while ushering in a new chapter for Go Young-bae and the future of the band’s name.
