The Amazing Hidden Talents Of K-Pop Stars

Do you love K-Pop music and admire the pop stars? Find out more about K-Pop stars and their hidden skills such as cooking, photography and woodwork.

K-pop is a phenomena which has exploded in the most spectacular style. Although it’s been around for some time, more recently it’s gained a huge mainstream following in western countries too.

The stars of K-pop are as well-known as their music, with the ability to sing, dance and rap, depending on their particular style. However, you may not have realized that many of the K-pop celebrities also have some other hidden talents. Here’s a look at just a few.

When you’re touring away from home for a long time, getting takeout constantly is going to leave you pretty unhealthy. To stay full of energy to pull off those exhilarating dance routines, having a good diet is essential.

The good news is that there are a whole host of K-pop stars queuing up to show off their culinary skills. Many of the bands have at least one member who doesn’t mind rustling up some great food using their favorite recipes.

Jin from BTS has a huge fanbase, and he’s not shy about showing off his other talent. Whipping up some food is one of the ways he relaxes and he’s shared some of his top recipes online.

One of the simplest (but tastiest) of Jin’s recipes is a chicken and rice stir fry which only needs chicken, rice, paprika, cheese, onion, vegetable stock and eggs. You can find all the ingredients for this recipe at a great price in the Publix weekly ad, such as BOGOF chicken breasts deal. If you’ve never tried Asian food before, this is an easy way to try our delicious dishes without spending a fortune.

There are plenty of other K-pop stars who enjoy getting busy in the kitchen such as Taeyong from NCT 127, D.O from EXO, Mingyu from Seventeen and Yook Sungjae from BTOB. The latter has particularly outstanding skills, appearing on Idol Chef King and finishing in third place!

Camera Work and Editing

Although all of the K-Pop stars are used to appearing in front of the camera, it’s very different to being able to control what goes on behind it. Yet that’s what a number of them have shown a talent for, specializing in shooting, directing and editing.

Despite being the youngest member of BTS, Jungkook has taken responsibility for creating a series of v-logs documenting their travels. Known as GCFs, or Golden Closet Films, the documentaries feature the rest of the band and is produced and shot by Jungkook. If he ever decides he wants a change of career direction, he has already proven his aptitude for video shooting, directing and producing, so he could easily make the switch.

Jungkook is possibly the best-known of all the K-pop stars in the world of production and editing, but he’s not the only one.

Seulgi from Red Velvet is a whizz with the camera, creating beautiful photography. She’s certainly helped by the fact that she’s also an outstanding artist, so her creative eye transfers easily to camera work and photography.

Other budding video editors include BamBam from GOT7 who has impressed with his production and shooting skills.

The K-Pop gang are a talented bunch but some of the skills they have are a bit more offbeat.

Flower-arranging might not seem a likely pastime for a pop star, but there are two K-poppers who are fans. Both Dongwoo from Infinite and Baekho from NU’EST have an eye for beauty and enjoy floral work whenever they get the chance.

Gyujin from UP10TION and Jaekyung from Rainbow are both keen crafters and have the ability to create beautiful items. Gyujin demonstrated an aptitude for wreath-making and more recently, leatherwork, while Jaekyung used her woodworking knowledge to make a sofa before going on to upholster it.

Who knows what other talents the K-Pop stars might reveal in the future…
