TVXQ Dominates ‘Japanese Golden Disc Award 2015’

TVXQ‘s popularity in Japan continues to get proven as the duo dominated the Japanese Golden Disc Award 2015 with five awards.

On March 2, a list of winners was revealed on the official site of the Japanese Golden Disc Award, in which TVXQ won Best Asian Artist, Best Music Video, Best 3 Albums and Album of the Year.

According to the list, the group was honored 4 times, while taking home 5 major awards. They snagged the first award for Album of the Year with their album Tree, which was released last March. This album alongside the album With both made it to the Best 3 Albums, earning two trophies. They then received the prize for Best Music Video with their TVXQ Live Tour 2014 Tree. Finally, the two surpassed all other musicians to be awarded as Best Asian Artist.

This is the second year that TVXQ has brought home 5 awards from Japanese Golden Disc Award. Last year, they also dominated the event with the awards of Best Asian Artist, Best Album of the Year, Best 3 Album, Best Download Song of the Year and Best Music Video.

Japanese Golden Disc Award is hosted by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, serving the purpose of honoring artists who have had magnificent contributions to the music industry in Japan since 1987. The award’s nominees are chosen based on the number of album and video sales.
