Celebrating its 12th anniversary, the Shorty Music Awards happened virtually on May 4. With the aim of honoring “the best of social media,” the annual music ceremony continuously recognizes influential artists, content creators, and brands across various social media platforms in the last decade.

Known as Asia’s top girl group, Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu achieved the said award for their massive popularity. The girls bested international acts including Billie Eilish, Brandi Carlile, Celine Dion, J Balvin, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Mike Posner, Missy Elliot, among many others.

Previously, fellow idol groups BTS and BLACKPINK likewise achieved the same Shorty Award. BTS won in 2017 while BLACKPINK grabbed the award in 2019.

In related news, JYP Entertainment recently confirmed TWICE’s nearing comeback plans. The beautiful and talented girls will gift fans with their newest song “More & More” on June 1.

While waiting, ONCE should hype themselves first by watching the girl group’s YouTube original series TWICE: Seize the Light.
