All the best to Jiyoon and Weeekly!

IST Entertainment has announced that their prized girl group Weeekly will be moving forward as a six-member group as Jiyoon permanently left due to health concerns.

The agency shared that Jiyoon experienced symptoms of anxiety during promotions. She took two breaks last summer and this spring to focus wholly on her treatment and recovery.

“With the artist’s health as our top priority, Jiyoon herself, her family, medical experts, and IST Entertainment had been cautiously discussing whether she was ready to resume her activities,” the agency said. “However, we have reached the decision that Jiyoon needs to be in an environment where she can focus on her mental health above all else and that she should continue to focus on receiving treatment.”

As of June 1, 2022, the agency revealed that Jiyoon will officially conclude her activities as a member of Weeekly. The group will continue to promote with six members, namely, Lee Soojin, Monday, Park Soeun, Lee Jaehee, Jihan, and Zoa.

Moreover, the agency expressed its sincere apologies for the concern they have caused and asked for fans’ unwavering support for Jiyoon so she can regain her bright and lovely energy. “Furthermore, we hope you will continue to cheer on the six members who will work hard to fill the empty spot of ‘Wednesday,'” the agency added.
