WINNER Wins Charts With 2nd Full Album “EVERYD4Y”
South Korean boy group WINNER continues the YG Entertainment’s blockbusters on music charts with its second full album EVERYD4Y.
EVERYD4Y, which is led by the track of the same title, soared to the top spot of most major music streaming charts including Melon, Genie, Bugs Music, Mnet, and Naver Music.
Aside from the domestic success, EVERYD4Y was also well-received overseas. It soared to the top spot of Apple’s iTunes Album Chart in 18 countries including Brazil, Chile, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Mexico, Thailand, Bolivia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Peru, and Taiwan.
EVERYD4Y marked WINNER’s return eight months after the domestic release of Our Twenty For, and exactly a year since Fate Number For. It is also the first full album of the group after almost four years since the release of its debut album 2014 S/S.
Leader Seungyoon described the 12-track album as the encapsulation of the group’s past four years. “We have some songs that were written four years ago and recent works as well,” he said.
Aside from being in accordance to last year’s four-themed marketing campaign, the title EVERYD4Y seeks to emphasize the importance of each and everyday of people’s lives.
WINNER also aims to diversify its musical spectrum through the album.
With its senior BIGBANG on hiatus due to the members’ mandatory military service, people are looking at WINNER to lead YG Entertainment as its most senior boy group. Still, Mino said the members do not want to burden themselves with the duty of filling the space left by BIGBANG.
“But as part of the YG Family, we would like to continue this positive energy,” Mino added.
