YG Artists To Skip This Year’s Mnet Asian Music Awards
Not a shadow of YG artists will grace the ‘Mnet Asian Music Awards’ this year.
This puts a halt on the anticipation of the fans as they will not be able to see their favorite artists from the said agency at the awards show, which will happen next week.
Results of the online voting for MAMA nominees have yet to be revealed. Due to time constraints, preparation for the performances of YG artists at MAMA may be compromised as the agency is known for its meticulous performance planning that leaves a lasting mark to the audiences.
The label will instead focus on upcoming commitments by its artists, which are slated to happen before the year ends.
YG Entertainment’s newest girl group BLACKPINK is nominated in four categories: Best New Female Artist, Best Music Video, HotelsCombined Artist of the Year and HotelsCombined Song of the Year.
iKON is nominated in two categories: Best Male Group and HotelsCombined Artist of the Year.
Psy is nominated in two categories: Best Male Artist and HotelsCombined Artist of the Year.
Lee Hi is nominated in two categories: Best Female Artist and HotelsCombined Artist of the Year.
Hip hop duo MOBB (Mino from WINNER and Bobby from iKON) is nominated for the Best Collaboration with Hit me.
Meanwhile, the iconic group BIGBANG is scheduled to release its full MADE album on December 12.
‘Mnet Asian Music Awards 2016’ will be televised on December 2 at the Hong Kong AsiaWorld-Expo.
