Fans will soon have to bid farewell to ZE:A’s Minwoo, as he is set to join the army this September!

According to Star Empire Entertainment on August 26, Minwoo will be the first member of ZE:A to enter the military for his mandatory service on September 15. Due to his wish for a low-key enlistment, the exact location where he will receive training will not be revealed.

Along with the agency’s official statement on the same day, Minwoo posted his handwritten letter via the group’s official fan club, expressing his deep gratitude to fans and hoping to meet them after his military discharge. He also wrote on his personal Twitter: “I’m really sorry but also really thankful. Please continue to love us ZE:A, and I will come back well.”

In related news, Minwoo made his debut as a member of ZE:A with their first album Nativity in January 2010. In 2012, he became part of the Japanese project group 3Peace Lovers, alongside two Japanese artists, Nikaido Hayato and Sasake Yoshihide. He last promoted the Chinese song Marry Me with the subgroup ZE:A J on August 9.
