Supernatural Reality Hit “Battle of Fates” Becomes Disney+ Korea’s Biggest Series Premiere Ever

Blending mysticism with competition, Battle of Fates has surged to the top, becoming the most-watched series premiere of all time on Disney+ in Korea—surpassing the record set by 2023’s Moving based on views within its first 12 days.

The breakout show has also claimed the title of #1 series premiere of 2026 across Disney+ in the Asia-Pacific region, with local adaptations for other markets already in the works.

Since its debut on February 11, the supernatural reality competition has drawn viewers in with its unique premise: a face-off among masters of divination, including experts in shamanism, tarot, saju, face and foot reading, and other mystical disciplines. Across a series of high-stakes challenges, contestants rely on both ancient practices and modern tools—from spirit communication and ritual instruments to analytical reasoning and even laptops—to deliver the most accurate readings and avoid elimination.

The season culminated earlier this week with a gripping finale, where one standout emerged victorious from an original pool of 49 competitors, earning the title of Korea’s top fate reader.

As part of Disney+’s expanding slate of unscripted hits, Battle of Fates joins a lineup that includes I Am Boxer, The Zone: Survival Mission, and My Name Is Gabriel starring Jennie of Blackpink. The platform also teased upcoming originals, including Japan’s Travis Japan Summer Vacation!! in the USA, a travel docuseries following the group’s U.S. journey, and Daigo Project (working title), Disney+’s first original Japanese variety show.
