EXO’s D.O. Praised By “Swing Kids” Director For His Dancing Skills
EXO’s D.O. made everyone go “ooh la la la” with his performance in Swing Kids – including the film’s director himself.
Aside from his acting skills, EXO’s D.O. got complimented for his talent in dancing by Swing Kids director Kang Hyeong Cheol.
The director was all praises for EXO’s D.O. (also known as Do Kyungsoo in the world of acting) and his outstanding performance in the musical drama film during an interview with YTN.
Besides the idol’s stellar acting, director Kang Hyeong Cheol dotes on D.O.’s amazing dancing skills, which shone in the movie.
“Do Kyungsoo started out practicing later than the other actors (in the film), but he is a true professional when it comes to dancing. He was the best out of all cast members,” the director said.
D.O. plays Ro Ki Soo, the lead role in Swing Kids. His character is a North Korean soldier at a South Korean prison camp during the Korean war, who develops a love for tap dancing after meeting the American officer Jackson. The latter had previously done tap dancing in Broadway.
“He has a solid foundation as a dancer,” director Kang Hyeong Cheol also noted. Although it’s true enough that D.O.’s background as a member of EXO helped him with his role, he showed his dedication to the role by still undergoing training for tap dancing for over six months.
Swing Kids had been raking in many viewers who have said nothing but praises for the film since it hit local theaters on December 19.
