Former KARA Member Kang Ji Young Confirmed To Dub ‘Detective Conan’ Film
It was announced on March 30 that former KARA member Kang Ji Young will be taking up a new role by dubbing for the 19th Detective Conan film titled Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno.
The idol revealed that she is a huge fan of Detective Conan, especially the female character Kogoro Mori. The role which she will play, is a guide in an art museum.
She shared her honest thoughts on her first participation in dubbing for a Japanese animated film, saying: “I was nervous about dubbing in Japanese at first but happiness overruled it. I am happy to participate in the project at the studio where Detective Conan is being created.”
The 19th Detective Conan film centers on Conan as he tries to track down Kaito Kid, who supposedly steals a replica of Vincent Van Gogh’s Sunflowers painting during an auction. It is set to air in Japan on April 18.
In related news, Ji Young made her debut as a member of KARA, one of the most successful Korean pop girl groups, in 2008. After leaving KARA in April 2014, she signed with a Japanese entertainment agency, Sweet Power, four months later to pursue her acting career in Japan.
