HIGHLIGHT’s Yoon Doo Joon Describes Challenges With His “Radio Romance” Drama Role
Yoon Doo Joon is coming back with a new drama after two years!
HIGHLIGHT’s leader Yoon Doo Joon will return to the small screen as a top actor in KBS2 television series Radio Romance.
The singer-turned-actor will bring Ji Soo Ho to life, a top star who is used to acting based on scripts even in daily life, but ended up as a DJ for a live radio show where things do not usually happen as planned.
“I feel burdened as this is a kind of character I am playing for the first time. But, I am filming with much fun and enjoying the feeling of top stars,” he said.
Yoon shared that he enjoys playing the character of a top star. However, he admitted that he found it difficult to get into his character initially.
“I had difficulties understanding the character as there is no similarity between the character and me except the occupation,” he said.
According to him, he was able to overcome the challenge with the help of the drama’s director. “He (the director) explained the character in detail and we talked a lot,” he said.
Radio Romance will be Yoon’s comeback drama after the 2015 MBC web drama Splash Splash Love, which he headlined with Kim Seul Gi.
The singer-actor began his acting career in 2010 with All My Love. He went on to star in KBS drama Iris II: New Generation and Let’s Eat season one and two.
Radio Romance stars Kim So Hyun, Yoon Park, and Girl’s Day’s Yura. It will begin airing on January 29 at 10 p.m. KST as a Monday-Tuesday drama.
