IU Confirmed To Star In Upcoming Film “Broker” By Internationally Acclaimed Japanese Director
IU will appear in the film Broker by the iconic Japanese director, Hirokazu Koreeda.
IU has been chosen to participate in the movie Broker along with other high-profile actors. The singer-actress makes a great addition to the cast line up already headlined by some of the illustrious names in Hallyu.
The legendary Japanese film-maker Hirokazu Koreeda has worked on the original screenplay of the film. He conceived the story five years ago and is ready to make it a motion picture this year. Furthermore, the iconic director has catapulted his name in the film-making world with countless acclaimed works. Notably, in 2018, he received the Palme d‘Or, the highest honor in the Cannes Film Festival for his feature film Shoplifter.
Broker (working title) will tell the story of people forced by circumstances to leave their children in “baby boxes”. With baby boxes, people can anonymously give up their babies whom they can no longer tend and provide for.
Filming will commence in the first half of this year. Zip Cinema, which has also produced high-grossing movies such as #Alive and The Priest, will carry out the film production. Meanwhile, CJ Entertainment, will handle the film distribution.
