Lee Dong Wook Promises To Reward Fans With Good Work Through New Drama “Life”

Following the success of Goblin, Lee Dong Wook returns with another promising drama.

South Korean actor Lee Dong Wook is finally coming back to display his acting chops once again after the successful wrap-up of the phenomenal drama Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.

This 2018, the actor is ready to step out of the shadow created by his well-loved character, Goblin‘s Grim Reaper, and move forward as a doctor in the upcoming JTBC drama Life.

Lee will play Ye Jin Woo, the head doctor at the ER department of Sang Gook University Hospital, where Cho Seung Woo’s character, Goo Seung Hyo is the chief director. The central characters in the story, Ye and Goo offer opposing approaches as doctors with Ye valuing life above all else and Goo prioritizing numbers on top of everything.

Moreover, Lee’s character is described as indifferent on the happenings in the hospital, but has a clear standard on the path a doctor is supposed to take.

Having developed his own acting method since debuted in 1999 and impressing with his portrayal of Grim Reaper in Goblin, Lee is expected to lead Life with a refreshing and dramatic performance through Ye Jin Woo.

Lee said he is working hard to breath life to the complex internal changes that is going on inside his character’s mind while raising fans’ curiosity on what Ye Jin Woo is thinking behind his indifference.

The production team of Life praised the veteran actor in his immersion in the character as well as his analysis to properly show the true value expected in the drama. They are also confident that Lee will display a new charm through this production.

Additionally, the synergy between Lee and Cho is another aspect to look forward in the upcoming drama set to premiere on July 23.

Lee also promises to deliver a good performance for his awaiting fans. “I’m doing my best to be able to reward you with a work that is as good as you have anticipated,” he said. He also thanked them for the support.

Life is written by Lee Soo Yeon known for her work on Secret Forest and directed by Hong Jong Chan, who previously worked on The Most Beautiful Goodbye. It will also feature Won Jin Ah, Yoo Jae Myung, and Moon So Ri.
