“Physical: Asia” Gears Up for an Explosive Premiere on Netflix This October 28

Netflix is turning up the heat with Physical: Asia, the first-ever cross-border edition of its hit competition series, set to premiere globally on October 28.

The newly unveiled teaser poster and trailer offer a thrilling glimpse into the massive challenges and intense rivalries awaiting as 48 elite contestants from eight nations — Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Türkiye, Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines — battle for glory and national pride.

Following the iconic Greek temple arena of Season 1 and the rugged underground setting of Season 2, Physical: Asia ups the ante with a grand new stage and larger-than-life quests. From a massive sinking ship to fortress-style showdowns, the season blends Korean and Asian cultural influences to create a breathtaking spectacle filled with high-stakes action.

The trailer hints at fierce national face-offs, including a Korea–Japan showdown, and introduces an all-star lineup featuring boxing legend Manny Pacquiao (Philippines), former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker (Australia), and Korean MMA trailblazer Dong Hyun Kim.

Showrunner Jang Hogi emphasized the scale of the production, revealing, “We built the set across an area equivalent to five soccer fields, using 1,200 tons of sand and 40 tons of steel. This season features quests and battles unlike anything audiences have ever witnessed.”

Previously, the show announced the 48 contestants of Physical: Asia — the franchise’s first-ever nation-vs-nation showdown.

• Korea: UFC trailblazer Dong-hyun “Stun Gun” Kim leads a powerhouse squad featuring Olympic gold medalist Yun Sung-bin, Amotti (Physical: 100 Season 2 winner), Jang Eun-sil, Choi Seung-yeon, and famed ssireum champion Kim Min-jae.
• Japan: Yushin Okami, one of Asia’s most decorated MMA fighters.
• Australia: Former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker.
• Philippines: Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, the only eight-division world champion in history.
