SNSD’s Yoona On ZE:A’s Im Si Wan: More Charismatic Than Expected, Promises To Visit Him In The Military
Are you ready for Yoona and Si Wan’s new drama?
Another drama will grace the small screen this month. Starring SNSD’s YoonA, ZE:A’s Im Si Wan, and model-actor Hong Jong Hyun, The King Loves will premiere on MBC TV beginning July 17.
The upcoming Monday-Tuesday period drama will mark Im’s final acting project before officially enlisting for his mandatory military service, which will start on July 11.
But it seems that the 29-year-old singer-actor, who plays the crown prince of Goryeo Wang Won, will not feel lonely during his service as he has something to look forward to. Im’s co-star Yoona has promised to visit him, together with The King Loves cast members.
The SNSD member plays the role of Eun San, a nobleman’s daughter who hides her identity to survive. In the story, Wang Won falls in love with her.
The King Loves is noted to be Yoona’s first venture into period drama.
During the press conference for the new drama, Yoona described her leading man as “more charismatic” than she had expected. “You would think he is softer from his appearance. But a part of his personality is really charismatic, and has a masculine charm,” she said.
While Hong, according to her, is gentler and more playful than his strong image and physical attributes. The model-actor will play the role of Wang Lin, the best friend and guard of Wang Won.
The King Loves is set in the Goryeo dynasty, which tells the story of the relationship of the crown prince, his best friend and the daughter of the nobleman. It centers on love with a heavy dose of palace intrigues, themes of power struggles, identity in relation to race and geopolitical, and dynastic rivalry between Goryeo and the Mongol Empire.
