Super Junior’s Yesung To Make Drama Debut In ‘Drill’
Super Junior’s Yesung will be making his first foray into acting as he’s confirmed to join a new JTBC drama titled Drill.
Adapted from a namesake webtoon, Drill revolves around employees at Pureumi Mart, who struggle against unfair work conditions. Yesung is set to take up the role of employee Hwang Jun Cheol, who works in the seafood department of the supermarket. The other confirmed cast members are actors Ji Hyun Woo, Hyun Woo and Park Si Hwan.
Regarding his upcoming drama debut, Yesung shared:
Although it’s my first time acting, it’s an honor to be a part of a project based on a really good webtoon. I was really nervous before the first shoot, but the atmosphere on set is so good, I am enjoying each day of filming. I want to show a story that everyone can relate to through ‘Hwang Jun Cheol,’ a character you don’t come across often. I am trying my best, so I ask for your support.
It is reported that director Kim Seok Yun, who previously worked on the KBS’ Old Miss Diary, JTBC’s I Live in Cheongdam-dong and the film Detective K, and scriptwriter Lee Nam Gyu will team up for the drama. Drill is slated for broadcast next month.
