Uhm Jung Hwa To Make Her Big Screen Comeback With An Action-Comedy Film
Uhm Jung Hwa will finally return to the big screen with the action-comedy film Okay Madam.
Sanai Pictures, the production company behind box-office hits New World and A Violent Prosecutor, confirmed on January 9 that the singer-actress will make a comeback in the big screen after four years through its upcoming movie.
Aside from Uhm, Okay Madam will also feature Lee Sang Yoon, Park Sung Woong, Bae Jung Nam, and Lee Sun Bin. The film, described as a comedy action movie, will revolve around a hijacking incident on an aircraft by a North Korean operative who is in search of a missing agent.
Uhm Jung Hwa will play Mi Young, a tough and relentless woman who runs a pretzel shop. It will mark Uhm’s newest film after taking four years of hiatus on the big screen following the 2015 romantic comedy Wonderful Nightmare (also known as Miss Wife) which she co-starred with Song Seung Hoon.
Park Sung Woong will play Mi Young’s husband Seok Hwa, a computer repair specialist.
Meanwhile, Lee Sang Yoon will take on the role of Cheol Seung, the North Korean operative behind the hijacking incident. Bae Jung Nam will be Hyun Min, a passionate airline crew. Lee Sun Bin will play Gwi Sun, North Korea’s best operative agent.
Director Lee Cheol Ha, whose filmography include Love Me Not and Insane, will direct Okay Madam.
Filming for Okay Madam will reportedly begin in February. The movie is aiming for a release in 2019.
