Viu once again supersizes, with new JTBC partnership, offering the largest volume of Korean dramas and variety shows in Singapore and Southeast Asia, marking its continuous commitment to strengthen its premium Asian content line-up for fans

Viu, a leading pan-regional OTT video service by PCCW Media Group, upsizes its extensive Korean content line-up recently by signing an agreement with leading Korean cable broadcaster JTBC to offer its viewers access to over 80% of the Korean TV network’s premium drama series and variety shows.

This new partnership, marking JTBC’s largest content deal in Asia, complements Viu’s substantial library of Korean content from major broadcasters KBS, MBC, SBS, and CJ E&M. Viu now offers its viewers the largest volume of Korean drama series and variety shows in Southeast Asia, cementing its position as the top OTT provider of Korean entertainment content in the region.

Adding JTBC’s top-grade programmes marks Viu’s commitment to creating a valuable user experience for their fans. As the Hallyu wave continues to sweep across Singapore and Asia, this landmark agreement means Viu users will have access to hundreds of hours of JTBC’s Korean drama and variety content, with local language subtitles available in Singapore from as fast as eight hours after its telecast in South Korea.

JTBC’s programmes consistently enjoy high ratings, with viewership for several dramas and variety shows exceeding 10%, a stellar achievement for a cable network. These top hits include Strong Girl Bong-soon (2017), The Lady in Dignity (2017), and Chef & My Fridge. To date, JTBC ranks as one of the top five broadcasters for drama and variety content in Korea.
