Good start for Youn’s Kitchen!
Korean cable TV network tvN started the second season of its reality show Youn’s Kitchen on January 5 with solid ratings.
The tvN reality show topped the rating list of all TV programs in the same time slot by garnering a viewership rating of 14.1 percent on average and peaking at 17.3 percent. Youn’s Kitchen 2 showcases four famous actors journey in running a temporary Korean restaurant in the small town of Garachico on Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands. Its first season donned the same theme but was shot in Gili Trawangan, northwest of Indonesia’s Lombok.
For the second season, the reality show maintained its original star-studded actor line-up of Youn Yuh Jung, Jung Yu Mi, and Lee Soo Jin. Senior actor Shin Goo, who took part in the first season, was replaced by Park Seo Joon.
The first episode featured the cast members’ preparation for the opening of the restaurant, with Korean rice topped with an assortment of vegetables and meats or bibimbap as the main dish.
In an online talk show aired on the eve of the second season’s airing, Lee Soo Jin stated that the team will be shooting the third season once the current season’s rating shoots up to over 15 percent.
With the show’s solid start, a 15 percent viewership rating may be a walk in the park for Youn’s Kitchen.
