GOT7’s Bambam Asks Fans ‘Please Stop’ After Tweet Gets Controversial
Bambam is begging.
Korean boy group GOT7 reunited with member Mark‘s family in Los Angeles for the Lunar New Year. The Tuan family had dinner with the members and staff of JYP Entertainment.
“Best way to start a new year,” tweeted Mark’s father Raymond Tuan along with a photo of the group. To commemorate the reunion, Bambam tweeted a photo with Mark’s father, and captioned it “Back in LA to see my Daddy”.

However, some fans left inappropriate comments on the tweet. Some comments seemed to suggest that Bambam used the word “daddy” as a reference to a “sugar daddy”. Sugar daddy is a term used for an age disparity in love relationships, in which the older partner takes care of the younger one, usually financially.
Bambam then took a step forward to clarify his tweet. “Daddy means father. What you guys talking about?”, he wrote. According to the idol, Mark’s father is like a real father to him. “Please stop,” he added.
In another tweet, Bambam explained that he has been calling Raymond Tuan “daddy” since last year. “He takes good care of me and all of GOT7 members, that’s why I feel like he’s my father too. Please”, he wrote. The GOT7 member has deleted the two tweets.
Some IGOT7s also took a stand regarding the controversy, calling out the fans who made inappropriate comments on Bambam’s tweet.
I feel bad for bambam, he genuinely meant that papa tuan was a father figure to him but y'all dirty-minded noodleheads did him wrong

IGOT7s have expressed their disappointment for the insensitivity of the people who made the inappropriate comments. “You made Bambam feel bad for having the chance to finally call someone daddy,” one account wrote. The fan added, “I’ve lost trust in humanity.” Another fan wrote, “You just made a boy truly yearns for a father defend himself and feels guilty.”
The idol member lost his father at the age of three, and moved to South Korea at a very young age to train. After recounting all these, a fan said, “What right does anyone have to dictate who he calls family?”
Bambam finally has a father figure in his life and you idiots harassed him over it and made him BEG for you to stop twisting his words.

Bambam hadn't had the chance to call someone "daddy" for so long. Having someone to call so now would mean a lot 🙂

IGOT7s all over the world also trended “BAMBAM IS OUR SUNSHINE” to cheer on the idol. Fans have also left encouraging replies on the tweet to express their support for him.
