MONSTA X’s I.M Signs Contract With Sony Music Entertainment Korea

I.M expands his musicality as he signs an exclusive contract with Sony Music Entertainment Korea as a solo artist!

MONSTA X’s I.M signed a contract with Sony Music Entertainment months after announcing his departure from Starship Entertainment.

On November 16, Sony Music Entertainment Korea announced that it has signed I.M to further accelerate his growing career as a solo artist. Through this connection, I.M will be closely working with the agency on new projects to chart his growth as a soloist following his successful solo debut EP DUALITY in February 2021.

Consisting of five songs, the DUALITY album had swept international charts and had all tracks charting on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales Chart shortly after its release. The music video for the title track, “God Damn,” even amassed over 7.8 million views on YouTube as of this article’s writing.


I.M Remains A Member Of MONSTA X

Furthermore, I.M shocked Monbebe (MONSTA X fandom name) when news of his departure with Starship Entertainment was released. Although I.M has signed a contract with Sony Music Entertainment Korea, he will remain a member of MONSTA X and simultaneously sharpen his focus and growth as a solo artist.

Sony Music Entertainment Korea is expected to equip the youngest monsta with top-notch producers, songwriters, collaborators, and studios to reach new and existing audiences and supercharge his solo career globally.

I.M started his career in the Kpop industry when he debuted as the lead rapper and youngest member of the Starship Entertainment boy group MONSTA X in May 2015. The powerhouse group was formed through the Mnet survival program NO.MERCY, and has since achieved massive international success, with a total of nine studio albums released, so far, including two English albums.
