“When I work, I don’t put up walls,” Kim shared. “I just be myself and take the first step—I start the conversation, approach the other person. That openness lets you see their strengths and adapt naturally.” He explained that even casual conversations, often starting with food, create a foundation for connection. “It’s like dancing—you bump into each other, adjust, and eventually move in sync.”

This philosophy clearly paid off with Go Youn Jung, who mirrored his approach. “She came up to me first and started chatting,” he said. Over time, their connection grew deeper, not just between themselves but across the whole team. “In Canada, we all ate together, went for walks, and shared ideas. Everyone was working toward the same goal, so talking about acting became natural.”

Kim highlighted how this collaborative spirit shaped their performances. For instance, in a scene where their characters stroll together, the pair explored how their characters might view the same moment differently. Even small improvisations, like holding a cat doll, added warmth and authenticity. “We didn’t want to just make people laugh or cry—we wanted to live those moments,” he said.
