CONCERT RECAP: Mark Tuan Takes Fans To “The Other Side” During Seattle Tour Stop

By  |

From “I love you, Mark!” yelled from the crowd to plushies, flowers, and more, fans made sure Mark felt the love during his first solo concert.

On October 29, Mark Tuan’s The Other Side tour stopped in Seattle, marking his first visit to the city as a solo artist. Filled with new fans and Ahgases alike, Mark delivered an intimate performance, mesmerizing the audience with performances that included the entirety of his first album.

Starting the night was Mark’s long-time friend and fellow musician, Wesley Feng. Overflowing with charisma and energy, Wesley (also known as Wes) demanded that the crowd “Make some noise!” before settling into his setlist. He commanded the stage for twenty-five minutes before finally biding ado, but not before exciting the audience one last time by getting them to cheer along to When I say “Markie,’ y’all say ‘Tuan!”

Following a brief intermission, Mark took the stage. Keeping the hype up, he effortlessly transitioned from “save me” to “last breath” to “let u go” to “imysm,” the latter of which had the crowd singing along to every word.

After the first four songs, Mark began his ment, during which he took a moment to greet fans. He started by thanking the audience for coming, after which he proceeded to accept gifts such as flowers, plushies, and sentiments of “I love you” yelled from the crowd. Not one to be shy, Mark playfully flirted back with fans, joking that some adult-humored signs were “inappropriate.”

Mark then introduced that the show would be an intimate look into his The Other Side album. He shared that the album wasn’t a reflection of being hurt by an ex-girlfriend or lover. Instead, it’s about all the things he went through to get to where he is today. As the tour ended, Mark shared that he was sad that it was ending but hoped to return soon, whether it was as Mark, the soloist, or as Mark, a member of GOT7.

Throughout the night, Mark showcased his versatility as an artist and performer. He was playful and funny during many moments throughout the night but also was open, honest, and candid, making it a memorable experience for everyone who attended. As he wowed fans through fan favorites like “change up,” “exhausted,” and “hard 2 love,” it’s hard to imagine this was his first tour as a solo artist.

As expected, it was an intimate night of soul-soothing music and overflowing warmth for Mark Tuan.
