[CONCERT RECAP] NCT 127 Showcased Dazzling Performances In “NEO CITY : THE UNITY” In Bulacan

NCT 127 has once again proved that they got the talents, looks, and stage presence as they reunite with their beloved Filipino NCTzens through their ongoing tour’s PH stop!

NCT 127 has returned to the Philippines with a bang through their NEO CITY : THE UNITY Tour held last Sunday, January 21 at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan. This marks their first concert in the country in more than a year since they held their NEO CITY : THE LINK Tour in September 2022.

The group’s solo concert was definitely a night to remember to all attendees as they unloaded their unmatched energy, talents, and stage presence. Members Johnny, Yuta, Taeyong, Jaehyun, Doyoung, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan threw an almost three-hour long music party with a setlist that consists their latest tracks and best hits. Taeil was absent due to a recent injury and will be sitting out the rest of  THE UNITY stops.

NEO CITY : THE UNITY Tour in Bulacan was presented by DNM Entertainment, one of the leading concert promoters in the country today.

Highlights

AN INTENSE START

Appearing on stage while donning a crisp and clean all-white ensemble, NCT 127 kicked off the concert by performing a mash-up version of the title track of their 2nd Album Repackage in 2020 titled “Punch.” Loud cheers from PH NCTzens quickly filled the open venue as the group danced to the hard and loud beats of the song.

The members of the group could not help but smile at the sight of their Filipino fans jamming and singing with them wholeheartedly. Johnny, Yuta, Taeyong, Jaehyun, Doyoung, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan further raised everyone’s excitement by asking fans to dance along to their next tracks “Superhuman” and “Ay-Yo.”

As expected from PH NCTZens, thunderous roars filled the stadium every time a member’s face filled the large panel screens near the stage.

NCT127 continued their introduction stage by performing the song “Crash Landing” from their 2022 album 2 Baddies. Through this soothing but rhythmic track, the members were able to showcase their versatility and wide vocal range. They also used mic stands as props while devouring the stage with the song’s pleasing choreography.

Afterwards, the group moved to the extended stage to close up the “Space” between them and their fans. This track definitely captured the members’ irresistible charms and amazing fan service abilities as they wave to fans who have been patiently waiting for their return.

Ending the opening stage on a gleeful note, NCT 127 stunned fans with a jaw-dropping presentation of tracks “Time Lapse” and “Skyscraper” and then moved on to formally greet their lovely supporters.

Taeyong, the leader of the group, acknowledged the presence of Filipino NCTzens by saying that he missed them a lot. Meanwhile, Mark assured fans that they will make good memories given that their Philippine stop was their first stadium venue for the UNITY tour.

Other members also emphasized that they were really happy to be back and that they cannot wait to have fun with their fans. Johnny also stated, ““Did you guys miss us a lot? We got the moon up there. We got the stars down here (points to fans).”

NCT 127 LET THEIR COLORS SHINE

Living up to the meaning behind their group’s of aiming localize K-pop across the globe, NCT 127 brought out their charisma with b-sides “Parade” and “DJ”, while also delivering a sweet but cool image with “Yacht” and “Je Ne Sais Quoi.”

These performances were particularly remarkable as the group perfectly demonstrated that though they have different vocal tones, dancing styles, and personalities, they become one when they are on stage.

The audience burst into a frenzy when NCT 127 finally sang some of their bangers after a quick outfit change, which include “Fire Truck” “Chain” and “Cherry Bomb”. Notably, the members appeared on stage performing “Fire Truck” while riding a monstrous truck and then sprayed air directly to fans as if they were real firefighters.

The music party continued as the boys perform “Sit Down!” followed by the heartfelt tracks “Gold Dust” and “Fly Away With Me.” Switching up the mood further, NCT 127 then serenaded fans with “White Lie” and “Love is a Beauty.” Johnny, Yuta, Taeyong, Jaehyun, Doyoung, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan’s voices blended beautifully as the night gets deeper.

In turn, the crowd became a wave of light as their lightsticks shone in sync with the comforting music.

EXPLOSIVE STAGES FROM NCT127

One thing that NCT127 will always do on stage is serve! Sporting all-red fits that highlight their physiques, the group gave fans a fiery performance of the songs “Simon Says”, “Tasty”, and “Favorite (Vampire)” while dozens of red confettis filled up the venue.

The members took a quick break to ask fans if they were also having a blast. PH NCTzens quickly replied by saying yes and then proceeded to the karaoke time segment where both parties sang the famous intro lyrics of their song “Kick It.” Indeed, this song is monumental in the boys’ careers as they received the loudest cheers when it started to play.

NCT 127 continued to impress the crowd with “2 Baddies” and “Fact Check.” These two songs stimulated fans to scream at the top of their lungs and to dance the night away as if there is no tomorrow. It would be an understatement to say NCT 127 and PH NCTzens had the time of their lives during this segment.

NCT127 PROMISES TO REUNITE WITH PH FANS SOON

To conclude the night, NCT 127 delighted their fans by crowd favorites “Be There For Me” and “Angel Eyes,” whose lyrics are about finding solace and joy in someone’s presence. These are the perfect songs to describe the relationship between the group and their fans, who have been each other’s source of happiness and comfort through the years.

Proceeding with their last talking segment, the NCT 127 members felt emotional as they bid their goodbye to PH NCTzens one by one. “Next time, we should have 2 days [of concert]. We’ll be back…This would not be the end. This can not be the end. So we’ll see you guys next time,” Mark stated.

Jaehyun, on the other hand, felt incredibly grateful for the precious time they have spent with fans. “Thank you all for a great energy. Last but not the least, I will always be right here doing my best. I hope you be there for me.”

Member Jungwoo complimented fans’ incredible energy and promises to be back with a better image. “Even before the show, I was very excited because it was an outdoor performance. I think im getting unforgettable memories tonight. I think i’ll never forget your energy. Thank you for your valuable time and we will make sure to come back.”

Before the light gets dark, the members took the time to bid and wave fans goodbye while utilizing the entirety of the stage. They take turn to give the best fan services to fans while singing “Promise You”. Some members even threw their shirts as souvenirs to fans who never left their side.

NEO CITY : THE UNITY Tour in Bulacan was truly one that will go down in history. From the massive LED screens, Matrix-inspired VCRs, large-scale stage props, and the member’s bewitching auras, this concert will forever hold a special place in Filipino NCTzens’ hearts.
