CONCERT RECAP: “Be You 3” Features Spectacular Stages From APINK, BTOB’s Minhyuk, Infinite’s Nam Woohyun, and CIX

Be You 3 brought together the incredible talents of several K-pop artists, all for a heartwarming cause!

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as fans from all walks of life gathered for Be You 3: The World Will Smile, on July 23, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Spearheaded by APINK, BTOB’s Minhyuk, Infinite’s Nam Woohyun, and CIX, the third installment in the Be You concert series aimed to raise awareness and support for individuals with cleft lip and palate, showcasing the power of music to bring people together and make a positive impact.

The event also celebrated Be You’s first anniversary, with local performers Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Ice Seguerra, and NOBITA kicking off the show. The P-Pop trainees, AE, also hyped up the crowd with their introductory performances and a new rendition of SB19’s “I Want You.”

Infinite’s Nam Woohyun graces the Be You 3 stage

First up on stage was INFINITE’s Nam Woohyun, who actively captivated fans with his soulful tone. Although coming in as a solo artist, Nam Woohyun’s charisma filled the stage. His performances undoubtedly captured Filipino Inspirits, and it is no exaggeration to say that he might have converted non-fans to avid listeners right after his set.

Nam Woohyun sang “Hold On Me” and “Calm & Passion” before generously interacting with his dedicated fans. He mentioned how much he missed the Filipino Inspirits and was glad that the latter warmly welcomed him.

The INFINITE lead vocalist also acknowledged how the group was preparing for a comeback and teased fans with their upcoming concert in August 2023. He then proceeded to serenade the audience with “Somehow” and “Lonely Night” before ending his set with a wonderful live performance of “Shooting Star.”

CIX debuts on the Manila stage

As the rising stars of the K-pop scene, CIX took the spotlight with their high-energy performance that had the audience on their feet. BX, Seunghun, Bae Jinyoung, Yonghee, and Hyunsuk expressed their excitement upon meeting their Filipino FIX and assured that they would try their best to visit the country more often.

The group kicked off their set with “Save Me, Kill Me,” before devouring the whole arena with “LOST.” The loudest cheers covered the venue when CIX performed “Movie Star” and “Cinema.” It was as if five Hollywood movie stars came to grace everyone with their elegance, creating an electric atmosphere.

Joy was visible in the members’ faces as they roamed around the stage to see fans closer to “Color.” Seunghun assured fans that he is fine, as he had to sit down for the whole night due to an injury. But it did not hinder him from delivering those exhilarating high notes.

BTOB’s Minhyuk compliments PH Melody

It was one of the loudest minutes of the show as the screen showed BTOB’s Minhyuk, signaling his turn to dominate the crowd. He opened his set with “I’m Rare,” cementing his charismatic presence on the Manila stage. Minhyuk left the audience in awe of heavenly visuals as he moved on to perform “Dear My Spring.”

The BTOB rapper also commended Filipino Melody when they wonderfully completed “Tonight (with Melody)” with their fanchant. “Melody, as always, all of you are beautiful.” Minhyuk then showcased his incredible prowess as HUTA, ending his set with “BOOM.” He also hoped to return to Manila with the other members of BTOB.

A nostalgic night with APINK

The cheers did not fade a bit. It even grew even louder as the members of APINK appeared onstage to perform “DND.” After almost seven years, Park Chorong, Yoon Bomi, Jung Eunji, Kim Namjoo, and Oh Hayoung returned to Manila to meet their Filipino fans. The lovely ladies brought their signature charm and powerful vocals as they proceeded with “Duhmdurum” and “Mr. Chu.”

“NoNoNo,” which is undoubtedly a fan favorite, received the loudest cheer from fans. The members also took time to appreciate the cheers and hoped to return to Manila for a solo concert. “We will come back if you call us!” APINK ended their set with “I’m So Sick.”

As the night came to a close, the audience left with hearts full of love and inspiration. The Be You 3: The World Will Smile aiming to spread awareness and offer a powerful tribute to the cleft lip and palate community was a testament to the power of music to bring people together, spread joy, and make a positive influence.
