Explaining the creative process of Absolute Zero, Baekho relayed the effort he poured into the project.

“It means that the energy flow of all molecules becomes zero and there is no resistance. I thought it was very similar to my current point. When I first started working on it, it didn’t work out well, so it was a result of focusing more on my favorite genre.”

Talking about the pressure of working on an album alone, he expounded the restrictions on word choices and perspective with NU’EST. But for his solo venture, he can handle topics more freely. He also revealed why he used Baekho instead of Kang Dongho.

“The first name I started as a singer was Baekho. That’s why I took the name Baekho. However, if I’m going to appear in a musical or drama, I can work as Kang Dong-ho. It’s greedy, but I want to take both.”

When asked about Jonghyeon’s solo debut in November, Baekho shared that they already exchanged congratulatory words with each other. He adorably quips that it would be fun if the promotion overlapped and does not think of him as a competitor.

Renewing his contract with Pledis in March this year, he answered his decision to stay is based on the best option for his current situation. Ultimately choosing to work with people he’s been working with for a long time and the opportunity to work with new staff felt like the right choice for Baekho.

Humbly recounting his dream to debut when he was a trainee, then win a music show, thereafter. Baekho remarks how it took him a long time, but it was truly a happy moment. Moving forward, he goals to stay as an artist for a long time.
