JYP Entertainment’s new global girl group VCHA has begun the countdown to its official debut.

Lexi, KG, Camilla, Savannah, Kaylee, and Kendall officially release their first debut single “Girls of the Year” at 2 pm on January 26.

VCHA released their pre-debut single “Ready for the World” on December 1 last year. The official debut date was suddenly revealed in the performance video released along with the sound source, and the group’s full-fledged start was announced.

JYP announced the release of VCHA’s first debut single “Girls of the Year” through its official SNS channels on the first day of the new year 2024. The tracklist includes a total of two songs, including the title song “Girls of the Year”, which has the same name as the debut single, and the b-side song “XO Call Me”.

Girls of the Year

The official debut song “Girls of the Year”, as the song title suggests, contains VCHA’s bold ambition to become the girls representing this year.

Lauren Aquilina, who created hit songs spanning genres by working with Marcus Andersson, worked with LE SSERAFIM, the world-renowned girl group Little Mix, and American pop stars Demi Lovato; and Chloe Latimer, who participated in the songs of various K-pop artists such as Twice, IU, and Oh My Girl collaborate in the creative process of VCHA’s debut work.

The lively energy and VCHA’s attractive tone of the partially pre-released “Girls of the Year” audio captured the listeners’ ears. At 2 PM on January 2, the lyrics of the pre-released section were also revealed. The lyrics, “Feel like Girls of the Year Dressin’ up like dynamite, feel like girl of the year tonight” warmed up fans’ hearts who anticipate the official debut of VCHA.

VCHA is a global girl group created through the mega-project A2K, a collaboration between JYP, a representative K-pop agency, and Republic Records, the No. 1 label in the United States selected by Billboard under Universal Music Group. Park Jinyoung, who spearheaded this effort, personally named the group with the meaning that ‘VCHA will shine the light on fans and the world.’

On September 22nd last year, they released their pre-debut single SeVit (NEW LIGHT) and title song YOUniverse simultaneously around the world and celebrated the grand finale of A2K.

“Girls of the Year” is set to be released on January 26.
