HYBE Reveals The Name Of Its First Girl Group

HYBE announces the name of its first-ever girl group to debut.

Anticipation rises for HYBE’s first-ever girl group debut. Following its countdown event, the company revealed that the girl group’s name is ‘LE SSERAFIM’. The group, created in partnership with HYBE’s label, Source Music, is preparing for a debut in May.

Expectations are high for the group’s debut as it is not only HYBE’s first-ever girl group, but it also includes two beloved idols. Former IZ*ONE members Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon will debut once again in this new project, generating buzz from global fans.

The group’s name, LE SSERAFIM, is an anagram of the phrase “IM FEARLESS”, which was highlighted at the beginning of the countdown event the company launched. This anagram expresses the strong message and worldview of the forthcoming group.

HYBE explained, “It implies self-confidence and a strong will to move forward without fear or without being swayed by the world’s gaze.”

While this is the first girl group to emerge from HYBE, the company previously debuted Glam during its time as Big Hit Entertainment. Since forming into a hybrid lifestyle company, the agency acquired GFRIEND through its acquisition of Source Music. Additionally, HYBE acquired fromis_9 following its acquisition of Pledis Entertainment.

HYBE will continue introducing new girl groups into the global music market through a variety of different projects. This includes a group spearheaded by Min Heejin, the CEO of its affiliate label, ADOR. The company will also debut a girl group in the female version of its audition survival series with CJ ENM’s Mnet, I-Land 2.

Meanwhile, fans can follow LE SSERAFIM and keep up with their debut journey on the group’s newly launched SNS accounts. LE SSERAFIM will make their debut this May.
