SF9’s Yoo Taeyang Cast In Musical Version of “Dream High”

FANTASYS ARE GETTING A TREAT FROM SF9’S YOO TAEYANG! HE RECENTLY CONFIRMED HIS UPCOMING CASTING IN THE MUSICAL “DREAM HIGH”!

Yoo Taeyang of the talented K-Pop boy group SF9 will be joining the cast of the upcoming musical Dream High.

Based on the KBS2 drama, Dream High, which aired in 2011, the musical will depict the lives of the main characters after graduating from high school. Yoo Taeyang will star as Song Sam Dong, a country bumpkin who is a music prodigy with a rare disease.

Fans of the drama may recall that actor Kim Soo Hyun played Song Sam Dong in the original work, debuting as a singer in the final episode. In particular, the musical follows the story of Song Sam Dong’s life after his spectacular debut on stage and has been drawing attention since it was announced.

Additionally, the musical version of Dream High, ushers in a new style of performance, combining dance with an existing musical script. Yoo Taeyang leads the story at the center of the play, and it is expected that he will bring his own unique performance filled with expression and grace.

Yoo Taeyang is the main dancer of SF9 and can often be seen at the center of SF9’s performances, leading the team through dynamic and powerful stages. He also established himself as a talented all-around performer, proving his skills as a vocalist, dancer, and entertainer through his appearance on MNet’s competition show, Kingdom: Legendary War. 

He plans to add his own style of synergy to Dream High, being previously recognized for his skills in singing and acting through various other musicals, including, Alta Boys, The Human Court, and Secretly Greatly.

Meanwhile, the musical Dream High, featuring Yoo Taeyang as Song Sam Dong, is scheduled to begin performances in May 2023 at the BBCH Hall, Gwanglim Art Center, Sinsa-dong, in Seoul.
