SM subsidiary KMR Launches Producing Label Kustomade

SM Entertainment’s music publishing subsidiary Creation Music Rights (KREATION MUSIC RIGHTS, KMR) launched the producing label Kustomade.

After establishing KMR in September 2023, SM Entertainment plans to enter the artist management business based on KMR’s numerous producers and excellent production capabilities, and to materialize the multi-label strategy of the ‘SM 3.0’ strategy at KMR. As part of this, KMR launched a producing label in charge of artist management business.

Kustomade is a compound word of KMR, Custom, and Made. Under the slogan ‘It all starts with music’, it focuses on enhancing artist branding by encompassing all stages of production, from planning and production to marketing and management.

The goal is to set the direction of visual and storytelling, including artwork that highlights the individuality of the artist, present a marketing strategy that takes advantage of the organic nature of the content, and actively support the artist’s activities. Kustomade opened its official website, YouTube channel, and SNS along with the launching news.

KMR’s current artists include Kim Woo Jin and YELO. Kim Woo-jin, a former SM Entertainment trainee and former member of Stray Kids, officially debuted as a solo artist in August 2021.

YELO (Yellow) is a singer-songwriter and a topliner belonging to Monotree, the production team of KMR’s independent company (CIC). Since her debut with her single “Swim In You” in September 2018, she has been steadily working on songs, unfolding the story caused by her misguided love in a three-part series.
