Genie, Make a Wish: Kim Woo Bin and Suzy Reimagine the Genie Myth in Upcoming K-Drama

In this new series,  Kim Woo Bin (Officer Black Belt, Black Knight) plays the Genie. Unlike the benevolent figure we’ve seen in fairy tales, this Genie is a devilish spirit who grants three wishes but at the cost of corruption. After a thousand years trapped in a lamp, he emerges eccentric, naive, and unfamiliar with the modern world—making him both dangerous and unexpectedly endearing.

Opposite him is Ka-young, portrayed by Suzy (Doona!, Start-Up). Ka-young is not your typical heroine—she’s described as an emotionless psychopath, detached from the world, yet raised with love and hope by her grandmother and community.
