[FAN MEETING RECAP] WayV Shows SG Wayzennies What The Good Life Is Like Through Fan Meeting “Phantom” In Singapore

Can we turn it all back around to last Friday night?  

NCT’s Chinese sub-unit, WayV, has finally made their way to Singapore to greet SG Wayzennies face to face on June 2 (Friday) at The Star Theatre. The Singapore stop of their “Phantom” fan meeting tour marks the group’s debut in the country and is attended by five members: Kun, Ten, Xiaojun, Hendery and Yang Yang. Read on to relive moments from WayV’s Phantom fan meeting tour in Singapore last Friday. 

WayV kickstarted the fan meeting with a bang with “Kick Back” and “Try My Luck”, instantly captivating the crowd with their breathtaking visuals, rhythmic choreography and mesmerizing vocals. When it was time for the opening ment session, the quintet introduced themselves one by one in both Mandarin and English, and even got SG Wayzennies to do their greetings.

Kun, who sustained an ankle injury back in April, had to perform seated and could not join in for the group dances. However, he still served with his vocals where he could be heard belting out high notes one after another. 

Soon after, WayV moved on to the “The Way to Victory (5 Shots)” game segment, which consisted of various games that they had never played before in other stops of their fan meeting tour, and were playing for the very first time in Singapore. The segment was overflowing with adorable interactions where the members took turns to do forfeits ranging from aegyos such as poking a finger on their cheek and blinking while saying 뀨(ggyu~) to love declarations which saw Xiaojun passionately declaring his love for Yang Yang with a kiss on the cheek. 

A crowd’s favorite which elicited many excited screams would definitely be the Pepero game where Kun and Yang Yang each had to bite the snack on each end and tried to get it to 1cm or less. Kun, who was crowned as Singapore’s King of Phantom of the night, even took the stage with his crown and sash, striking a few cute and sexy poses. 

Sporting cute animal headbands from the previous games, the quintet then showed off their spectacular dance skills with a special dance cover medley which consisted of hit tracks by their label mates such as aespa’s “Illusion”, NCT Dream’s “Candy” and SHINee’s “Sherlock”. After the special stage, Ten mentioned that it was a pity that Kun still could not join in for the segment as he did such a good job with the covers previously that he was even dubbed as Kun-rina. Wishing Kun a speedy recovery and we hope to see Kun-rina in action next time! 

Following many exciting stages, WayV turned down the mood a little and serenaded SG Wayzennies with breathtaking renditions of “Broken Love” and “Dream Launch”. In return for all the love SG Wayzennies have received from the boys, they surprised WayV with a rainbow ocean where different colored lights were flashed during “Dream Launch”. It was truly a heartwarming sight to behold! 

After a quick outfit change, the quintet returned to the stage and showcased their unwavering charms and versatility with more of their hit tracks such as “Action Figure”, “Diamonds Only”, “Nectar” and “Phantom”. Xiaojun and Hendery shared their excitement of finally being able to meet SG Wayzennies in Singapore and disclosed that they had the chance to tour the city when they arrived and even filmed a vlog. 

When it came to the closing ment time, WayV extended their gratitude towards SG Wayzennies and expressed their wishes to return to Singapore again in the future for other activities. Having ended the night with “Good Life”, we believe that SG Wayzennies now know what the good life is like after spending a memorable Friday night with the king of their hearts.
