BTS’ RM Credits Bang Shi Hyuk And Pdogg For Making “Fake Love” Stage-worthy

BTS plus Bang Shi Hyuk plus Pdogg really makes the dream works!

BTS leader RM revealed behind-the-scene stories during the group’s preparation for Love Yourself: Tear during a V Live broadcast.

The rapper shared how the group chooses its title track. According to him, unlike common practices where singers chooses from a pile of already-made songs, the group creates the lead track with a clear picture and concept in mind.

Because of this, the album’s lead track is made at the beginning.

For this comeback, song “Fake Love” leads the 11-track third Korean studio album of BTS.

RM said they had the most difficulty making the song which had a world premiere at the Billboard Music Awards on May 20.

He further revealed that he wrote the melody of “Fake Love” for 20 times. Still, the group was confident it will receive a great response.

“When we heard the beats for the first time, we thought its definitely going to be a big hit,” he said.

However, RM admitted, despite the uniqueness of the initial version of “Fake Love”, the song still lacked in terms of its ability to be translated into a performance.

It was very much of a pop song, he said, adding that a lot of thinking occured especially on the suitability of the song to BTS’ style and performance.

“That’s why making the lead track is difficult. You need the right melody and tempo for the performance,” he said.

And for that, RM credits producer Bang Shi Hyuk and composer Pdogg who has worked with the boy group on their albums since the very beginning.

“I found producer Bang Shi Hyuk amazing because he created a totally different song,” he said.

According to RM, the pitch was adjusted to accommodate the voice range of the vocalists, and a guitar sound was placed.

“The initial version of “Fake Love” was quite depressing and it wasn’t what we could pull off,” he said.

“It’s also much better to perform as well,” he added.
